La Habra Heights is a general law city governed by a five-member City Council. Terms of office for City Council Members are staggered, with three members elected at one election, and two the next. Pursuant to SB 415, the City’s next four General Municipal Elections are as follows:
November 7, 2017: Three seats, 5-year term expires November 2022
November 5, 2019: Two seats, 5-year term expires November 2024
November, 2022: Three seats, 4-year term expires November 2026
November, 2024: Two seats, 4-year term expires November 2028
As the local elections official, the City Clerk administers procedures through which City Council embers are elected. Additionally, the City Clerk’s office assists candidates, committees and voters before, during and after the election.
The City Clerk serves as the local filing officer for the State of California, receiving all local candidate and campaign committee filings. Information, forms and manuals related to campaigns and committee formation are available on the Fair Political Practices Commission website.

A citizen of the United States
At least 18 years of age on or before Election Day
Voters must be registered 15 days prior to an election in order to vote in that election. Voter registration forms are available at City Hall and on the County of Los Angeles Registrar/Recorder website: www.lavote.net.
